BIOGRAPHY
Inspired by dance and its’ lyrical movement, Barrett captures the expressive freedom of drawing in his impeccably fabricated bronze sculptures. The resulting works employ balance and tension with organic shapes and fluid lines. A striking attribute about his sculpture is the upward, flowering quality of the composition, enticing the eye to linger, discover and marvel. Bill Barrett is a prominent member of the second generation of American metal sculptors, whose work is in public collections including Grounds for Sculpture, NJ, Runnymede Sculpture Farm in San Francisco and the Santa Fe Museum of Art. His sculpture shares a personal and passionate conversation with space and shape which he has developed over five decades.
